U.S. Springfield Allen Conversion breech loading trapdoor rifle, .50 cal., 36-1/2” barrel, blue finish, wood stock, sling swivels, iron cleaning rod, #NVSN; accompanied by a socket bayonet with metalscabbard and leather hanger with US marked brass hook. This gun is in overall very good condition showing a brown patina on barrel and muted blue finish on trapdoor and lockplate; very good bore, crisp action,sharp markings including 1864 date on lockplate and 1866 date on trapdoor with eagle head proof; wood stock is overall very good with the usual scattered mars and scratches from storage; sharp inspectorscartouche on left side of stock above the trigger guard; bayonet, scabbard and hanger also in very good condition.
