U.S. Simeon North Model 1816 Flintlock Pistol
Manufactured by Simeon North of Middletown, Connecticut, circa 1817 to 1820 with total production approximately 19,374. The lock plate has the later type marking: "NORTH (in a downward curve) over an American eagle motif with "U" and "S" at either side over "MIDLtn CONN." The lock plate is beveled at the front and slightly rounded at the rear, with a brass flash pan without fence that tilts upward to the rear. Casehardened lock plate, with all other iron parts finished brown. The left side of the barrel at the breech is marked "P / US" and the letter "J". Brass blade front sight on forward strap of the double barrel band. The stock has a "LS" cartouche on the left stock flat. Complete with a wooden ramrod with a swelled tip. Condemnation indentation is present on the left side of barrel forward of proof marks.

Condition: Refinished. The pistol retains half of the artificial brown finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina, with some scattered minor pitting. The action has a smooth gray patina. The stock is fine with a few hairline cracks on the left stock flat, a few missing minor chips, and some minor handling marks, with a minor gouge in front of the trigger.
