<B><I>U.S.S. Enterprise</B></I></B></I> <B>.999 Fine Silver Medals.</B></I> Consists of two scarce .999 fine silver medallions issued to commemorate the launching of the aircraft carrier <I>U.S.S. Enterprise</B></I> on Sept. 24, 1960. The serial numbers are 3181 and 2733; the weight is 132.7 gm each (approximately 8.5 oz). These scarce medals were issued in limited numbers and were struck by the Medallic Art Company of New York. Over the years, large numbers must have been melted for their silver content.
