Dated 1855 on the lock plate, tang marked "185?" and the breech end of the barrel is void of any markings. Standard Remington Herkimer N.Y. lock plate markings. Equipped with a Maynard priming device, bayonet lug on top of barrel, front sight integral to front double barrel band, and no rear sight. Three barrel bands with a crude "CDS" on left stock flat and a small "8" and "US" on the buttplate tang. Complete with an iron ramrod with flared tip

Condition: Good. The metal surfaces have a bright appearance with some minor flash pitting around the bolster. The rear barrel band is loose (the spring stays down). The stock is good with an old repair on the upper right side of the wrist. Otherwise overall scattered minor dings and dents. Lock markings are clear. The action is excellent.
