U.S. Remington Civil War Model 1863 Zouave Percussion Rifle
Produced between 1862 and 1865. Blade front and folding leaf rear sights (some leaves absent), with "V/ P/ eagle head", "STEEL R.K.A." and "1863" markings at the rear of the barrel. Lock plate is also dated 1863, with American Eagle, "U.S.", "L" and "REMINGTON'S / ILION, N.Y." markings in front of the hammer. Smooth straight grip stock, with a brass forearm tip, 2 barrel bands, sling swivels, patch box and smooth "U.S." marked butt.
