U.S. U.S. Postal History Dec. 5, 1919 Jahn Aerial Drop Cover. Mr. Jahn invented a parachute device for dropping objects from planes without landing. He then interested the P.O. Dept. in his device and got pilot Stevens of the Air Mail Service to give a demonstration of the device over the Capitol grounds with dignitaries in attendance.
