<B>U.S. Naval Air Station Dirigible Pillow Sham.</B></I> Dating from the 1930s, measuring about 16.5" x 15.5"; constructed of purple satin with a decorative gold cotton rope border, centered on the top is a machine-embroidered U.S. Navy dirigible surrounded by the words "U.S. Naval Air Station" and "Lighter-than-Air". The top has uniformly faded from exposure to the sun; otherwise, it is in very good condition exhibiting no tears or rips. Pillow shams were a popular souvenir to send to mom or a sweetheart during the 1930s through WWII.
