U.S. Model 1851 Springfield Cadet Musket dated 1858 in very good+ to near fine original condition, formerly Jonathan Peck collection. The .58 cal. rifled musket shows long range type rear sight and arsenalbright metal, showing just slight cleaning with some minor erosion and pinprick pitting. The butt plate is stamped "D75", the stock is near fine with sharp edges, just a couple small losses down the ramrod channel and 2sharp cartouches which appear to be "JS" and "ESA". The trigger guard is stamped number 84 in small letters and an original ramrod is included. The action is good, markings sharp with great eagle on lock. These Cadetmuskets are interesting and new research has surfaced on where they were issued. Est.: $2,500-$5,000
