U.S. Model 1850 foot officer’s sword with throat of scabbard marked Palmers & Bachelor – Boston, U.S. Regulation. The blade is unmarked and shows some light etching and remains in good condition with some wear. The hilt and brass mountings on scabbard show a deep matching patina that is turned almost red. The grip is in good to very good condition and shows all its original wire wrap. The leather on scabbard shows somecracking and crazing but is at least good with some small areas of repair. A very unusual marking. Est.: $600 -$1,200.
