U.S. Model 1847 percussion single shot pistol by Aston, dated 1852 in fine to near excellent as issued condition. The metal surfaces show original bright, some just starting freckling and erosion particularly at the muzzle but generally sharp and crisp with well-defined markings and “MS” stamp behind bolster, possibly for Mass. State. The stock is fine to near excellent with crisp cartouches. The trigger screws and nipple show much of the quenched blue finish; only a couple of bumps and handling marks; a 9+ on a scale of 1 to 10 and would be difficult to improve upon. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
