U.S. Model 1843 Hall-North Breech Loading Percussion Carbine

Also known as the "Side Lever Hall", Simeon North manufactured approximately 10,500 of these carbines between 1844 and 1855. The top of the breechblock is marked "U.S./S.NORTH/MIDLtn/CONN./1851", "STEEL" is marked behind the rear sight and there is a "JH" on the right side of the breech end of the barrel. The carbine has the breechblock thumb lever on the right side of the receiver and extended sling bar and ring on the opposite side. Button head iron cleaning rod and mounted with a smooth one-piece full straight grip stock, secured by two barrel bands and smooth flat iron buttplate.

Fair. The carbine has a mottled brown patina. The repaired (at the wrist) stock is fair with numerous pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
