U.S. Model 1842 martial issue single shot percussion pistol in .54 caliber by H. Aston and dated 1847 in original good to very good condition. The metal surfaces show a gray to brown patina finish with some light to moderate pitting mostly on the lock. The stock is very good with some minor compression cracks, slight losses, normal aging and the outline of the cartouche just behind the trigger on the left side. The original rammer and swivel are retained. The inspectionmarks on the barrel are fully visible. Desirable Mexican-American war date. cleaning and small losses at the toes. William A.
