U.S. Model 1840 light artillery saber by Ames dated 1863 showing full inspections and remaining in very good original condition. The blade and scabbard have been lightly cleaned and show some minor erosion and thehilt shows a nice deep patina with the markings B. B. over 6. The grip is in very good plus original condition with tight wire and very good leather. The hilt is also inspected by ADK. A far better than average light artillery sword. Est.: $700 -$1,400.
