The Model 1819 Hall Rifle was the first breech loading weapon adopted as a regulation weapon and the first firearm successfully produced with completely interchangeable parts. This example was manufactured by Harpers Ferry and later was converted to percussion. This rifle has a casehardened breechblock that is marked "J.H. HALL/H. FERRY/US/1831". The stock has three pinned fastened barrel bands.

Fine as arsenal converted to percussion. The rifle retains 60% thinned arsenal brown finish and the breech block retains traces of original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The stock is fine with a repair at the top of the wrist and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
