U.S. Model 1805 flintlock pistol by Harper’s Ferry, .54 cal., 10-1/16” barrel, wood half stock. This gun is in overall good + condition showing an excellent quality re-conversion to flintlock, crisp action, dark bore, light brown patina on barrel with scattered areas of erosion and moderate pitting around the touch hole; barrel is US and eagle proofed on the left side at the breech and also has the numbers “1667” at that location, the lock plate shows very good “U.S.” under the spread eagle and very good Harper’s Ferry marking at the rear of the lock plate with the date 1808. The brass mounts are good with a pleasing patina and the wood is good with some wear and old loss at the rear of the lock plate and an old repair of a crack at the underside of the back of the lock plate but otherwise complete and showing good stock marks on the left side above the trigger guard; wood ramrod. A key early Martial Harper’s Ferry pistol that is not easily found in any condition on today’s collector market. From the Richard Wolfe Estate. Est.: $5,000-$10,000.
