U.S. “Mississippi” type percussion rifle with brass mountings and patchbox, by E. Whitney with lock plate dated 1854, .60 cal., 33” barrel, brown finish, wood stock, iron ramrod. This gun is in overall uncleaned good to very good condition showing an even brown patina on metal surfaces with scattered pin prick pitting, good action and markings, dark bore, nice patina to brass mountings, wood is overall good with scattered mars, wear,scratches and dings with two visible inspector’s cartouches on the left side of the stock above the trigger; barrel is proofed at breech and “US” stamped on the top of the butt plate.
