This is the obverse die for the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition so-called dollar. It is the seal of the city of Seattle. It is the original U. S. Mint made obverse die in EXCELLENT condition. Rare and unique. HK-353. The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition was a world's fair held in Seattle in 1909, publicizing the development of the Pacific Northwest. It was originally planned for 1907 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush, but the organizers found out about the Jamestown Exposition being held that year and rescheduled. The University of Washington became the campus of the fair. The idea came from Godfrey Chelaander, Grand Secretary of the Arctic Brotherhood.City: SeattleCounty: State: WADate: 1909
