U.S. M1 carbine, receiver-marked maker Irwin-Pedersen, .30 cal., 18” barrel marked Underwood with flaming bomb and dated 3-43, military finish, early wood stock with “I” cut on right side of stock for oiler, tanwoven sling with metal oiler (sling marked “F-S Co. 1943”), #1764164; accompanied by a fleece-lined tan canvas U.S. marked soft case. This gun is in overall very good condition showing considerable militaryfinish remaining, good to very good bore, crisp action and markings, no magazine, flat bolt, flip-up two stage rear sight, very good wood stock showing an older re-finish to lower stock that displays finer graining than usual and inspector cartouched “IP” in rectangle and crossed cannons on the right side of the butt stock and “IR-IP” marked in sling channel flat; top wood hand guard shows plain graining and has not been re-finished. Irwin-Pedersen M1’s are one of the rarest variations to find in any condition and are highly sought after by collectors. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
