U.S. M1 carbine, receiver marked National Postal Meter, .30 cal., 18” barrel marked Underwood with flaming bomb and dated 12-42, military finish, flat bolt, flip-up two stage rear sight, early wood stock with “I”cut-out for oiler on right side of stock, metal oiler, no magazine, olive green woven sling, #1452469; accompanied by a U.S. stamped canvas soft case. This gun is in overall very good condition showingconsiderable military finish to metal surfaces, early small serial numbers, good to very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings, good to very good wood with partial inspector’s cartouche on the right side ofthe butt stock that appears to be “NP” inside a square and “TRIMBLE __IN” mark in the sling channel flat.
