U.S. Model 1872 Presentation Cavalry Officer's Sword, in metal scabbard, by Weyersberg, Solingen, imported by M.C. Lilley & Co., inscribed on blade, ''Presented to Col. T.A. Houghton, 3rd Regiment, O.N.G. (Oregon National Guard) by the officers''. In metal scabbard with carrying rings attached to mounts embossed with patriotic themes. Condition overall is good. Brass three-bar hilt with high relief eagle and 13 stars on guard. Wire wrapped shagreen covered grip remains intact. The 36'' blade is crisp. Hilt shows fine age patina from use. Est.: $2,500-$3,500.
