U.S. Harper's Ferry Hall Patent Model 1819 Breechloading Flintlock Rifle
Manufactured in 1838, this Third production rifle has a browned barrel, browned iron furniture, casehardened breechblock and lock and bright iron, button head ramrod. The stock is oil-finished black walnut with pin-fastened barrel bands. The breechblock is stamped: "J.H. HALL/H. FERRY/U.S./1838" in four lines. The stock and barrel are correctly not stamped with final inspection marks or proofs.

Excellent, appears unfired, with approximately 97% of the original brown lacquer finish on the barrel, receiver and iron furniture. 98% or more of the original dark case-hardened finish remains. The stock is in excellent condition with raised, feathered, grain and nearly all of the original finish, with wear limited to a small chip on the wrist near the frame and on butt, and a few scattered dents and dings. The ramrod has the original bright finish. Mechanically excellent.
