Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 17.5 x 14, December 17, 1874. President Grant appoints John H. DeHoman Postmaster of Jacksonville, Alabama. Signed at the conclusion by Grant and countersigned by Postmaster General Marshall Jewell. In good condition, with some partial separations along intersecting folds, light crease through portion of signature, scattered toning and staining, including toning from seal over portion of signature, and scattered edge wear. The red seal is worn, but intact.
