Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 19.5 x 14, March 24, 1875. President Grant appoints Asa W. Smith as “Postmaster at Woodstock in the County of McHenry, State of Illinois.” Signed at the conclusion by Grant and Postmaster General Marshall Jewell. Green seal to lower left is fully intact. Nicely framed to an overall size of 18 x 15.5. Intersecting storage folds, one horizontal fold passing through the bottom of the signature, and moderate mirroring to ink, otherwise fine condition.
