Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 15 x 18.5, April 19, 1875. President Grant appoints Cornelius Cronin as "a Gunner in the Navy of the United States." Signed at the conclusion by President Grant and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy George M. Robeson. The blue seal affixed at the bottom remains mostly intact. In very good to fine condition, with overall toning and staining. Cronin had received the Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Mobile Bay and capture of New Orleans during the Civil War.
