''U.S. Gov't'' marked Winchester Model 1894 Saddlering Carbine, #892129, .30-30 cal., 20'' barrel, blue finish, gumwood stock and forend. Mfg'd 1921. Left side forward portion of receiver marked ''Property of/US Gov't''. The U.S. Gov't purchased a handful of Winchester SRCs during and just after WWI for security purposes in the Pacific Northwest forest. They are often referred as ''Spruce'' guns. Condition is very good. Barrel and mag tube retain approx. 92% blue. Frame has flaked to approx. 40%. Gumwood stock with minor bruises and light scuffs. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (C&R)
