U.S. Eagle head officer’s sword probably French made and imported for militia use circa 1825-1840s. The sword retains its original scabbard and is in good condition showing a gray patina on the blade with some normal aging andgood engraving. The scabbard shows traces of gold gilt and just a couple of minor nicks and no large dents. The grip is wire wrapped and the shape of the knucklebow on the guard is somewhat unusual. The feral between the grip and hilt shows a small split. Est.: $500-$1,000
