U.S. Eagle head militia officer’s sword with bone grip and engraved brass scabbard remaining in very good plus to near fine condition. Circa 1820s-1840s. The blade shows most of its original polish and full dimensions with 90% plus originaletched patriotic decoration showing American Eagle, stars, banners, scrolls, liberty caps and stand of flags. The blade shows some minor staining and just starting pinprick pitting. The scabbard shows traces of gold wash and a couple of carriage door, dents and dings. The grips show some cracks and normal aging. The hilt is in very good condition and still crisp. Est.: $1250-$2500
