U.S. Contract Remington Model 11 Aerial Gunnery Training Shotgun
This is the long barrel version of the Model 11 that was used by the U.S. military for aerial gunnery practice. It has the military blue finish, single bead front sight, oil-finished walnut stock and forearm and plastic serrated Remington buttplate. The bolt is bright and marked "MODEL 11". The left side of the receiver is stamped "U.S." followed by the Ordnance Corps "Shell and Flame" insignia and "MILITARY FINISH". The Remington trademark, patent markings and the serial number are located on the lower left side of the receiver. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Remington address/patent dates followed by "U.S." and the Ordnance Corps "Shell and Fame", with the legend "12 GA FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS" followed by the choke "IMP CYL" and "DMM anchor" inspection mark. The lower right side of the barrel is stamped with a Remington oval "REP" proof and a factory inspection mark. The left side of the replacement buttstock is marked with a faint cross cannon cartouche and the "FJA" inspection initials. Length of pull 13 3/4".

Very good. The shotgun retains 98% original blue finish with some light scattered spotting and some edge wear. The forearm has a minor crack on the underside, otherwise the wood is very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches. Buttplate is slightly loose at the toe.
