Originally produced in 1874 and subsequently refurbished into an artillery model, then reworked in the 20th century into a matching number example. Though the original record was lost, the included factory letters document the revolver's conversion to the Artillery Model, one of 100 delivered to the inspector on 16 November 1895. One of the letters confirms the 5 1/2 inch barrel. Fixed sights, with the one line block letter address on the barrel, bulls-eye pattern ejector head, and the two line, two date patent markings on the left side of the frame next to "U.S.". Clark inspected barrel numbered "12", with matching numbers and Ainsworth "A" marks on the cylinder and grip straps. Smooth one piece grips, with a faint cartouche on the left side.
