Manufactured in 1943, this pistol later passed through the Rock Island Arsenal, where it was armorer upgraded to meet the National Match standards of 1966. Serrated Patridge blade front sight with a "U.S." marked Kensight adjustable rear sight, with the one line Colt address on the right side of the matching slide, "NM7791435" on the left, a matching serial number on the chamber of the blue barrel, and "7267718/N M" on the front of the barrel bushing. The "F.J.A.." and "P" inspection marks are present on the left side of the frame and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 U.S. ARMY/RIA" on the right over the serial number. Crossed cannon marking on the right rear of the frame and "NM" on upper right front trigger guard bow. Checkered grips, with an adjustable aluminum trigger, checkered thin hammer and safety, serrated slide stop, long grip safety, checkered arched mainspring housing, and a stippled front strap. Fitted with checkered walnut grips. The magazine in the pistol is marked with an "S" on top of the toe and has "6505" electro penciled on the lower right side. Comes with two additional magazines, both with "6505" electro penciled on the lower right side and "L" on top of the toe on one.

Very fine as arsenal refurbished at the time of upgrade with 98% parkerized finish remaining showing some high edge and normal cycling wear, as well as some wear on the bottom front of the frame. The grips are excellent with a few tiny nicks and sharp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
