Manufactured in 1918. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block address and patent dates with the Rampant Colt in the center, the right side is marked "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and the eagle head "S12" is marked above the magazine release. Serial number is marked on the right side of the frame. Standard low profile fixed sights, smooth trigger, checkered slide stop, thumb safety and hammer, and fitted with checkered walnut grips with the diamond pattern around the screws. The pistol is complete with a field kit which has gold embossed "U.S. ARMY" and "EHF" on the lid, two gold stars on the front and a label which reads "UNITED STATES ARMY / U.S. / FIELD AND TRAVEL / CHEST 1918". The chest contains a uniform jacket with the 4th Infantry division shoulder patch. U.S. and infantry insignia pins on the collar, two pair of pants, a brass compass marked "U.S.C.E." on the back, an original, unopened 20 count box of 45 1911 Frankford Arsenal cartridges, two flashlights, fountain pen, October 10, 1918 "Camp Dix Times" newspaper, gas mask in canvas carrying case, garrison cap, first aid kit, comb, hairbrush, pair of binoculars, four glass containers with screw on lids, Montebello four in one knife, draftsman kit and a brass "Shaveinall" kit.

Condition: Refinished with metal surfaces having a smooth artificial mottled brown patina. The grips are fair with chunks absent from the toe area of the left toe, overall some heavy wear, some dents and dings. The markings remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with heavy edge wear on the front and back edges and most of the gold embossing remaining. The lining remains good and all of the accessories are good or better. The working condition of the flashlights have not been tested.
