Originally produced by Colt in 1918, this pistol was later sent to the Rock Island Arsenal, where it was upgraded to National Match standards, with 1911A1 style components and a hand-fitted barrel and slide assembly, for maximum accuracy. Patridge blade front sight and adjustable Kensight rear sight, with the one line Colt address on the right side of the slide and "NM7791435" on the left. A matching serial number is present on the barrel, with "7267718/N M" on the bushing. The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" ahead of the slide catch, "51" on the trigger guard, and the right side shows the serial number, "RIA" rework stamp, and "NM" on the trigger guard. The front strap has been checkered, with a serrated adjustable aluminum trigger, thin serrated hammer, long grip safety, checkered slide catch and thumb safety, serrated arched mainspring housing with lanyard staple deleted, and checkered hardwood grips. With a pair of extra magazines and a foam lined brown leatherette briefcase.
