The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Hartford address and patent date (1884-1905) markings with "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side. "RAC" is marked on the left side of frame and rear cylinder face. Butt is marked "U.S. / ARMY / MODEL / 1901" with No. 156 / 256. Crane and frame marked with the number "6256". Left side of trigger guard is marked "3" with a six pointed star on the right side. Smooth grips and lanyard ring on the butt.

Condition: Factory refinished/rebarreled. The revolver retains 90% of the blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor edge wear and a strong drag line. The markings have been restamped. The refinished grips are slightly undersized at the butt, otherwise fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
