Large archive of documents, awards, photographs, and ephemera from the estate of Brigadier General William W. 'Wally' Watts (1902-1977). Lot includes thirteen photographs, 27 awards, two shield plaques, a Social Security card, American Legion membership card, Armed Forces ID, and an amateur radio license. Three photographs are signed by Lee de Forest, Major General Harry C. Ingles, and Lt. Gen. William K. Harrison. Other photographs of Watts receiving awards and other military members. Shield plaques were awarded to Watts for 'National President of the AFCEA 1952-1953' and 'Organizer and First President Philadelphia Chapter 1947-1950'. Watts was a member of the Army Reserves who went on to be the National President of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). From a young age, Watts has been interested in electronics and radios and during the Korean War, he worked with the Defense Production Administration in Washington, D.C. Following this, he did work in Brazil, helping them with radio and electronic communications which resulted in Watts being awarded the 'Ordem Nacional do Cruzeiro do Sul'.
