Produced from 1836 to 1844. Blade front and groove rear sights, with "US/ JM/ P" on the upper left side of the barrel, a faint marking on the left flat, and "A.WATERS/ MILBURY. MS./ 1837" on the lock plate. Smooth stock, with a swiveling ramrod, iron furniture, a faint cartouche on the left side, and a metal buttcap. The last U.S. martial flintlock pistol, the 1836 was standard issue during the Mexican War, with many converted to percussion and used during the Civil War.

Condition: Very good, with a smooth dark brown patina on the hammer, dark blue lock plate and a gray patina overall, with scattered minor pitting. The stock is also very good with exception of three hairline cracks extending from the upper left side plate screw and a few minor dings and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
