35" curved dual fuller blade, marked "U.S./G.S./1860" on the right ricasso and "CHICOPEE/MASS" on the reverse. Etched decoration is present on both sides, scroll designs, stands of flags, "C.S.A. 1862" on the right and "Jos. M. Daniel/Texas." on the left. Brass hilt, with 2-branch guard and a wire wrapped leather grip. Steel scabbard with brass fittings and a pair of hanging rings. Joseph Daniel has not been identified, nor the CSA etching verified (Sword and scabbard are fair).
