Comics #2 (Timely, 1941) CGC Apparent VF/NM 9.0 Slight (P) Off-white pages.</B></I> Such a terrific cover, featuring Captain Terror battling Adolph himself in New York City (even before Pearl Harbor), deserves accreditation, but Overstreet, CGC, and The Grand Comics Database Project are mum. Only Gerber in his <B>The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books</B></I> suggests Simon and Kirby. We like that guess. Kirby was all over denouncing Hitler before America entered the war. The interior featured an all-star lineup of Golden Age greats, including Syd Shores, Basil Wolverton, Mike Sekowsky, and Al Gabriele. Appearance-wise, this copy is close to the nicest CGC has certified to date. CGC does note, "Restoration includes: centerfold and cover reinforced, tear seals, cleaned." Overstreet 2003 VF/NM 9.0 value = $3,375; NM 9.4 value = $4,500. <B>Estimate: $1,000-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
