Small notebook attributed to an engineer who served aboard U-873, approx. 250pp. of which forty or so bear pencil text and drawings by the unknown sailor. Included is data on four engines (presumably electric and diesel), consumption, various intake and output readings, etc. In rough shape, with many pages coming loose, binding coming apart, etc. U-873 was a German long range Type IXD2 U-boat remembered for the controversial treatment of its crew as prisoners of war and the suicide of commanding officer Friedrich Steinhoff in a Boston jail cell.
