Two magnificent hand-made sporting rifles by master German gunsmith Kurt Jaeger of Mainz, Germany, high art engraved by Gustav Schilbbach for “F.B.H.” (automobile company executive) in the 1950’s. 1) Serial #7570,showing 23-1/2” barrel, probably the popular German 7.92x57mm caliber but unconfirmed. The gun is highly engraved in classic oak-leaf motifs with gold line and border inlays. The rifle shows folding rear sight andclaw-mounted removable Kahles 8x49 power wide-view scope. With beautiful engraved mounts, polished bolt, and is finely stocked in select walnut that is beautifully carved in oak leaves and florals with high-reliefgame scenes on each side of action in raise panels, monte carlo cheek piece. Right side of stock is ivory inlaid with ivory bore and carved backgrounds. The rifle is capped and pistol-gripped in ivory. The mounts areengraved to match with oak-leaves, and there is a panel of stag in floorplate along with jumping doe on deluxe bullet trap which is spring-hinged in the belly of the butt.
