Two World War I U.S. Marine Posters. Countries at war created posters that would encourage young men to volunteer for battle. Some of these posters cultivated a sense of national pride some fine examples of these are 1) Another Notch "Chateau Thierry" US Marines 30x40 shrink wrapped over an acid free board. By Adolph Treidler. 2) WWI "Rally Round the Flag" with the United States Marines "Soldiers of the Sea" 30x40 acid free board art by Sidney H Riesenberg. There are two United States Marine Corps Recruiting Posters. Both posters in this group are secured "back to back" on an acid free board with plastic wrap around the entire board. 3) "TIME TESTED" 28 inches wide by 40 inches tall, with a 1957 U.S. Government Printing Office marking in the lower right corner. 4) "THE MARINE CORPS/1775-1975", 24 inches wide and 37 inches tall.

Condition: Two World War I U.S. Marine Posters. Poster 1)- is in Very good condition for a poster from this time period. Poster contains some slight damage to the left side with some slight wear and light wrinkling overall. Poster 2) is in good condition with wear along the edges customary for a poster of this age. Two large noticeable tears exist on the top middle and lower middle of the poster. The lettering is very clear and the images are excellent. The two United States Marine Corps Recruiting Posters. 3) Excellent, with a few small tears and mild wear in the lower left corner. 4) Good, with some creasing and foxing. The plastic wrapping has been compromised.
