1) No. 144. Dated Dec. 10, 1864 (less than 2 months after statehood). Pay to L. Janin Jr. $299. Signed by Charles Bonner. These men were involved with the Gould & Curry Mining company. Janin would later serve as supt. Blue 2 cent US IR stamp. Cut cancel. 2) Mariposa Mill Co. check, dated Aug. 4, 1871. Signed by mining magnate James G. Fair. RN-C21. Cut cancel. folds, and soiling.
