A) Very good. The rifle retains approximately 20% original blue finish (strongest on the barrel) with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The breechblock has a mixed brown patina with heavy amounts of bright and vivid case colors on the underside. The stock is fine with the exception of a couple minor gouges and some minor dings and scratches, with a clear cartouche. Mechanically fine. The bayonet is very fine, retaining approximately 97% blue finish with some scattered minor spotting. The sheath retains approximately 85% blue with the balance a smooth gray patina and some scattered light spotting, with a hanger in fair condition.

B) Very good. Overall the rifle has a smooth dark patina with some scattered traces of original blue finish on the barrel and lock. There is some minor spotting (heavier on the trigger guard and barrel bands). The stock is fine with a couple minor gouges and some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
