A) Standard two line Hartford address/patent dates (1884-1895) on top of the barrel, caliber marking on left barrel side and "P K" on barrel underside. "RAC" is present on the left side of frame, cylinder, and bottom on left grip panel. "K / 946" is stamped on the cylinder latch and "8977" is stamped on the frame and crane. The butt is marked "U.S. / ARMY / MODEL / 1896 / No / 128 / 977". Script cartouches are stamped on both grip panels.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 85% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is a series of small dings on the left side of the frame above the grip. The grips are fine with a series of minor dings on the bottoms, along with some scattered minor handling marks overall. Mechanically fine.

B) The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Hartford address and patent date (1884-1895) markings with "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side and a "P" on the underside. "RAC" stamped on the left side of frame, cylinder, and bottom of left grip panel. "7484" on cylinder latch, frame, and crane, with "K" also present on cylinder latch. Standard U.S. Army model markings on butt with a lanyard ring. Both grip panels are stamped with a script letter cartouche with "1901" also on the left panel.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 95% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with a noticeable cylinder drag line. There is a large shallow dent on the left panel, otherwise the grips are fine with some minor dings and scratches with legible cartouches. Mechanically fine.
