A) Good. Overall the pepperbox has a smooth gray patina with a smooth dark patina around the hammer. There is some minor pitting (mostly on the barrel cluster and nipple shield). The grips could not be removed, otherwise very fine with some minor dings (mostly on the bottoms) and some scattered minor scratches, with "BEARD" hand inscribed on the right panel. The markings are weak, but legible. Traces of the engraving remain on the nipple shield, with an overall clear frame engraving.

B) Good. The barrel cluster has a smooth gray patina with some scattered minor pitting. The remaining surfaces have mottled gray patina with a smooth dark patina on and around the hammer. The engraving is clear and crisp. The grips are very good with some minor ding and scratches.
