Two certificates from the West End Consolidated Mining Company, issued in 1921 and both signed by F.M. (Borax) Smith, the Borax King. The West End Consolidated incorporated in 1906. It controlled 184 patented acres in the Tonopah district. The company also controlled the Santa Rosa Mining Company in the Lee district, Inyo County, and West End Chemical Company operating at Searles Lake. The company was involved in extensive litigation over it's Tonopah claims. Both certificates are in good condition. One is uncancelled and is the green, 100 share variety. The other is issued for 30 shares, and is the brown variety. Large stamp cancel on this one.
