A) This is an exceptional example of a Model of 1905 4th Change manufactured from 1915 to 1940. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/patent dates, the right side "38 S&W CTG." and the left side "SMITH & WESSON". The left side of the top strap is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". The butt ahead of the lanyard ring is marked with a boxed "WB" and ordnance bomb and "P", and the serial number is behind the swivel. Parkerized finish with casehardened hammer and trigger, and fitted with smooth walnut grips with the right panel numbered to the gun.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 99% original parkerized finish thinning only a bit on the muzzle end of the barrel, and some high edge wear (primarily on the lower front of the frame). The hammer and trigger retain 99% plus original bright case colors. The grips are also excellent with a few minor dings and dents. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.

B) Scarce U.S. Navy Contract Smith & Wesson Victory Model Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter
Manufactured between 1942 and 1945 featuring a forged round blade front sight with a square notch rear, casehardened trigger and hammer with smooth oil finished walnut grips. The left side of the top strap is marked "U.S. NAVY" with the top of the barrel marked with the two line address/patent dates, "SMITH & WESSON" on the left, caliber designation on the right, "MADE IN U.S.A." on the right front of the frame and the S&W logo on the rear. Matching serial number on the rear cylinder face and butt. The accompanying factory letter verifies this serial number as shipped to the U.S. Navy, Oakland, Ca with 4" barrel, smooth walnut grips and mid night black finish on December 17, 1942.
