Skonvirke brooches are sought-after Scandinavian Art Nouveau pieces of jewellery; these two brooches with green cabochons exemplify the artistic craft of the Skonvirke silversmith

These two beautiful silver brooches are crafted in the Scandinavian Skonvirke style. Both brooches are in a typical Art Nouveau design. The smaller brooch is crafted in a delicate manner resembling a flower on a stem. The brooch by Carl von Larson is also designed with elements taken from the natural world but seems to have some stylistic elements of Celtic design as well.

The brooches are in good condition with minimal signs of age and wear. The dimensions are 5 x 1.5 cm and 6 x 4 cm and the overall weight is 5,90 grams. One brooch bares the maker’s mark “C.V.L.” and each a mark defining the purity “830S” and “800”. (khe)
