These two silver brooches are crafted in the Scandinavian Skonvirke style. They are broth designed with filigree, floral ornaments and have got cabochons into their form. The larger brooch originates from Hans Degner and is decorated with two red amber stones. The smaller brooch created L. Mathiesen, who has inserted a yellow-coloured amber into it. They show typical elements of Art Nouveau with their forms inspired by the world of the plants.



The brooches are in good condition with minimal signs of age and wear. The brooches have got small dents. The dimensions are 5.2 x 6.8 cm and 6 x 1.2 cm, and the total weight is 18.59 grams. The large brooch bears the hallmark ‘HD’, the purity ‘826’, and the letter ‘S’ on the reverse. The small brooch is marked ’LM’, and ‘826S’. (tm)
