A) Manufactured circa 1871 to 1890 with a total quantity estimated at 2,000 it is one of the smallest American derringer made. This model is commonly referred to as the "Baby" or "Pee Wee" model. Barrel pivots sideways to load and is marked "FOREHAND & WADSWORTH / WORCESTER, MASS." on the top flat. Manufactured without sights. Checkered spur trigger and hammer and walnut bird head grips marked "141" on the back.

B) Manufactured circa 1870 to 1887 by Iver Johnson and their predecessors Iver Bye and Company. Although claiming to manufacture the gun, James Brown and Company were merely distributors. Manufactured without sights. Marked "ECLIPSE" on the left side of the barrel. Smooth hammer and spur trigger. Fitted with smooth bird's head grips.

A) Very fine with approximately 90% of the original nickel finish with some minor flaking mostly near the muzzle and at the breech. There is a large chip on the left grip panel, otherwise the grips are very good with some minor scratches and minor cracking in the varnish. There is limited varnish flaking. The barrel does not lock. The marking is legible.

B) Excellent. The derringer retains approximately 90% of the original polished nickel finish with some minor flaking. There is some minor pin prick pitting and a small patch of moderate corrosion on the underside of the barrel. The grips are fine with some minor dings and scratches. The hammer pulls back to half-cock, but not full. The markings are clear and crisp.
