Two Pieces of American Iridescent Carnival Glass including a Swung Vase and Compote
This lot consists of two pieces of American iridescent carnival glass, including a swung vase and a ruffled compote, both attributed to the Fenton Art Glass Company. The carnival vase is constructed from emerald green glass with a heavy multi-colored iridescent finish showing tones of gold, purple, and green. The body features a vertical rib pattern and terminates in a flared, ruffled rim, a form achieved by swinging the glass while hot. The compote is made of translucent amethyst glass with a marigold iridescent interior finish. The bowl features a deeply ruffled and crimped rim supported by a cylindrical stem and a flared circular foot. Both items were produced using mold-pressed techniques. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on either piece.
